Dr. Nathan Hughes, DDS

Dr. Nathan Hughes is from Haynesville, LA and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. He received his DDS from LSU School of Dentistry in 1990 and then began practicing in Tyler, TX.

Dr. Hughes married his wife, Scarlett, in 1983 and they are the parents of two adult daughters. Caroline and her husband David, reside in Ft. Worth and are the parents of the Hughes’ grandchildren, Tinsley and Harrison. Their younger daughter, Joanna, attended classes at Tyler Civic Theatre throughout her school years and enjoyed appearing in many productions. She has a theatre degree from Baylor University and currently resides in Waco, TX attending law school.

Dr. Hughes enjoys playing golf and biking in his free time and is an enthusiastic fan of college football. He is a deacon at Green Acres Baptist Church and volunteers in many areas of ministry.

Dr. Hughes has a passion for dentistry and truly loves the interaction with his patients. He and his staff strive to create an environment that makes his patients feel welcome and confident that their dental needs are being met. He provides digital imaging, same day CEREC crowns, and implant surgery/restoration through his practice. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the East Texas Dental Society.

Tammy Stanfield

Tammy was asked to join Dr. Hughes’ team in September of 2018 when she stepped in as the office manager. She has been in the dental field for 14 years. Always there and happy to help, she handles all the administrative duties including any insurance questions you may have. She wants to ensure your experience at our office is a pleasant one. 

When she is not at work, Tammy enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband Tommy, who brings so much joy and laughter to her life. She also enjoys interior design and trips to the beaches in Florida whenever possible.

Office Manager

Misty Bridges, RDH, BS, COM

Misty has been with Dr. Hughes since 1993 and has practiced dental hygiene since 1990. She has a background in oral health promotion and is a Certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist. She is certified in evaluating and treating orofacial dysfunctions such as thumb-sucking, nail-biting, tongue thrust swallow, open mouth postures, clenching/grinding, and tongue and lip tie management to name a few. Each patient is screened for any dental, periodontal/gum problems, cancer screening, airway interference, nutrition/diet counseling, and soft tissue dysfunctions such as tongue ties.

Misty has a passion for educating patients on their oral health as it relates to their overall health. She currently works part-time and enjoys staying current on the latest continuing education while striving to give each patient excellent care.

Registered Dental Hygienist, Certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist

Sherry Burgess, RDH

Sherry is a dental hygienist and has been practicing for 26 years. She is originally from Tyler and went to Tyler Junior College and graduated in 1996. She started with Dr. Hughes in September 2021 as she recently relocated back to East Texas from the northwest Fort Worth area. She enjoys getting to know her patients personally and encourages them to have an active role in their oral health.

She has been married to her husband Aaron for 24 years and they have two kids in college. In her free time, she enjoys staying active walking her dogs, hanging out with family and friends, and recently started playing pickle ball.

Dental Hygienist

Pam Pyron, RDA

Pam has been a registered dental assistant since 1995 and has been working with Dr. Hughes for 22 years. She enjoys assisting Dr. Hughes and getting to know her patients in order to make them feel at ease in the dental chair.

She enjoys spending time with her husband Ronnie and their two dogs Thelma and Louise.. Pam loves the Texas Rangers,  fishing, and muscle cars, the newest being a 1976 Trans Am. She and her husband attend New Life Worship Center and enjoy hosting their family reunions.
